We are an extended family of 6 adults (2 being grandparents) 3 children aged 2, 3 and 5 and 1 dog. I think that The Crest must have been specifically designed for us.
The garden is of a good size, safe (for both children and dogs) and a gem of hidden paths and areas and, of course, the play house which all of the children loved.
The accommodation as clean, spacious and exactly suited our needs with the annex being a wonderful retreat for us grandparents when we wanted a bit of peace and quiet. The living rooms had a wealth of technology that kept both the younger adults and older child amused when the weather turned rather wet (this was England in April, after all). The kitchen was exceptionally well provided for and, whatever we wanted was there somewhere, including sellotape and glue.
There was a separate barbeque area with a barbeque big enough to feed the whole village and a pleasant seating area next to it. The owner had put a lot of thought into how to keep the children amused with plenty of DVDs and toys, including a dolls’ house which our 2 grandsons commandeered for their teddies! There were also a number of bath toys which proved to be a godsend when putting tired children to bed. Also, conveniently, there was a well stocked convenience store 5 minutes walk away which was ideal for when we ran out of milk and other essentials.
Jo Studer herself (the owner) was endlessly helpful, responding almost immediately to the stream of emails I sent asking about local dog walks, amusements etc and, last but not least, her thoughtfulness extended to a basket of goodies, including a bottle of wine and chocolate for us and some drawing books, crayons and party bubbles for the children. This is undoubtedly the best holiday let we have had, and worth every star.
We all voted to return some time, I just don’t know when.
